Urgency of the research. Today the global education system is being formed. In many countries around the world, several universities and departments of universities belonging to the global education system have been established on a non-governmental basis. The word “global” indicates the purpose of this education system to train highly qualified specialists to solve global problems. At the same time, this name reflects another side: the possibility of using this system as a reference assessment of the level of education for any country in the world in accordance with the UN Declaration of Human Rights in Education.

Target setting. The modern world educational space is in the process of formation, national educational systems have fundamental differences and their own centuries-old experience of education and upbringing. At the same time, the process of formation of the global system of higher education is irreversible, and therefore, in essence, is a search for compromises and adequate responses to the challenges of modern information civilization.

Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Issues of reforming the education sector, especially under the influence of modern trends, such as globalization, integrative processes, dealt with such Ukrainian scientists as: V. Kremen, O. Kovaleva, O. Luchaninova. Among foreign researchers, M. Elbrow, P. Scott, and R. Henvey dealt with this problem.

The research objective. The process of formation of the global higher education system is influenced by a large number of external factors. The aim of the article is to analyze the systemic influences on the formation of the global system of higher education and their features.

The statement of basic materials. The global education system is conceived as a system that does not contradict any existing education systems in the United States, Europe, Ukraine, etc.; it has no intersections with them. The global education system is a global non-governmental system. It does not enter into any conflicts with educational associations. The global education system focuses primarily on attracting to its orbit prominent figures in the world in the field of science, education, culture, art.

Conclusions. Thus, the article examines the trends of modern information civilization, namely: globalization processes, interna-tionalization of education, integration and digitalization, mobility and communication, cross-cultural literacy as a priority of cultural universals, which play a significant and systemic role in the global higher education system. Promising research in this context is the study of the interaction of national and global trends in the formation of a new educational paradigm.
