In scientific research, the problem of forming a tolerant personality in a multicultural society is viewed from the standpoint of multicultural education and upbringing (P. Kendzior, H. Filipchuk, S. Nieto, S. Schechter), teaching tolerant relations (V. Boichenko, L. Honcharenko, V. Zasluzheniuk, V. Kucher), formation of schoolchildren’s attitude to tolerance as to socially significant value (M. Bekoieva, A. Kapska, H. Rozlutska). However, the problem of education of schoolchildren in a multicultural society has not been properly reflected in psychological and pedagogical research.

The conditions for the efficiency of education of tolerance in schoolchildren in the context of a multicultural society are: multicultural content of the educational process; organization of a tolerant environment that ensures tolerant interaction between the subjects of the educational process; the use of interactive, personality-oriented, reflexive and dialogic technologies, which are aimed to develop the tolerant qualities of schoolchildren; developed tolerant qualities of the teacher’s personality and his/her competence in the issue of education of tolerance.
