Urgency of the research. Relations between religious denomina-tions, especially between the majority and the minority, tradition and the emergence of new religious movements are of considerable interest in scientific discourses. Therefore, moving in the direction of borrowing the policy and ethics of interreligious communication in the process of European integration, Ukrainian religious communities, especially interfaith relations, need in-depth analysis and understanding.
Target setting. One of the problematic interreligious relations in Ukraine is the relationship between Orthodoxy and late Protestants, including and Adventists. This is a natural phenomenon, because Adventism is a Western phenomenon and its representatives are a religious minority, which according to the Orthodox destroys the established Ukrainian traditions by a different doctrinal doctrine.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The definition of the level of relations between religious denominations: Orthodoxy and Adventism was based on materials published in the media of Ukraine.
The research objective. Describe the attitude of Orthodoxy to the Protestant denomination - the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The statement of basic materials. Orthodox believers have been found to be prejudiced against Protestants, including Adventists. On the one hand, adherents of Orthodoxy see Adventism as a foreign (foreign) religious element, whose members level the millennial traditions of the dominant Church in Ukraine. On the other hand, it is believed that this denomination, combining in its doctrinal system certain elements of the teachings of the Baptist and Jewish religions, has become a religious platform for the spread of heretical ideas among Orthodox Christians. Moreover, religious antagonism on the part of Orthodoxy is also manifested in the terminology still used by Orthodox believers when referring to Protestants, including and Adventists by “sects” or “sectarians”. It is stated that mutual intolerance and religious antagonism can be explained by differences in worldviews and religious competition. Although in the context of world religious tolerance among scholars of the world's leading countries, such terminology to recognized Protestant denominations is unacceptable and discriminatory. However, the authors also cite positive references and responses in the media about Adventists from Orthodoxy. A positive aspect of Adventists is a thorough doctrinal system that is stable, systematic, and publicized. But the most positive response from Orthodoxy was given by Adventist teachings on the principles of a healthy lifestyle.
Conclusions. Summing up the research, the authors state that the presence of positive reviews about the healthy lifestyle of Adventists and a thorough doctrinal system does not equalize the status of both denominations, at least in Ukraine.
