“Russian world” corrosions in the practices of the Moscow Patriarchate

Urgency of the research. The core of the identity transformations of Ukrainian society is overcoming the bacilli of the “Russian world”. In many ways, it also applies to the religious sphere.

Target setting. The ideas and practices of the “Russian world” are embodied in the public rhetoric of church functionaries of the Russian Orthodox Church and its satellite in Ukraine. Their analysis is an important prerequisite for effective opposition to this destructive ideology. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Aspects of the topic were investigated, in particular, by the following authors: S. Zdioruk, V. Yablonskyi, V. Tokman; L. Fylypovych, A. Kolodnyi; P. Pavlenko, O. Horkusha and others.

The research objective. To consider the destructive effectiveness of the narratives and practices of Russian Orthodox Church and its satellite “Ukrainian” Orthodox Church (on the basis of its Primate public speeches).

The statement of basic materials. It is shown how the Moscow Patriarchate “justifies” the war through the mouths of its officials and carries out total disinformation about the real causes of this war, distorting the foundations of Christian postulates regarding justice.

Conclusions. The current leadership of the “U”OC lacks the real potential to lead this structure to the self-criticism for being rooted in the ideas of the “Russian world” and to the essential transformations.
