Urgency of the research. Education has been under the influence of new powerful challenges for the past few years and scientists from different countries are responding to them. The AI era has become such a challenge and has permeated the entire digital society and education in particular.
Target setting. The problem of developing competencies in the field of using AI among educators has become relevant and it is necessary to create an appropriate framework of competencies in the field of AI for educators.
Actual scientific research and issues analysis. Ukrainian scientists are investigating the possibilities of using digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, in the educational process. These are such scientists as: V. Bykov, M. Zhaldak, O. Kuzminska, V. Kukharenko, V. Lapinsky, M. Oliynyk, N. Morse, Yu. Ramsky, S. Semerikov, E. Smirnova-Trybulska, O. Spirin, O. Strutynska, A. Stryuk, Yu. Trius, V. Franchuk and others.
The research objective. Analyze scientific sources and relevant publications on the topic of the study. Identify the components of AI competencies for educators in the digital society. Identify the structure of AI competencies for educators. Outline areas of further research in the field of AI use by educators.
The statement of basic materials. The authors developed three-level components of AI competencies for educators in the digital society. They include general 21st century competencies, digital competencies, and specific professional AI competencies for educators. The authors also envisage the formation of future competencies in the field of AI use for educators, which reflects the adaptation of the competency framework to rapid changes in technologies and teaching methods. The authors also propose areas of further research in the field of AI use by educators.
Conclusions. AI is becoming an integral part of the educational process in a digital society, providing significant opportunities for personalization and optimization of the educational process. It is extremely important to develop methods for using AI in education adapted to the educational programs of different countries and to train appropriate teaching staff.
