Urgency of the research. The main feature today is the opportunity to look beyond Ukraine, to study the experience of other countries in order to perceive design education on a global scale and to use knowledge in the process of training graphic designers.

Target setting. The education of designers in Ukraine must be constantly evolving to meet the expectations of future professionals and potential consumers. This will be possible if we move towards a more holistic, multidisciplinary design education that will allow design professionals who systematically think to position design as an integration of aesthetic, technological, business and sociological capabilities.

Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. Research on the training of specialists in different types of design is today a very relevant component of national pedagogical science. Have devoted their work to the analysis of design education in Ukraine and in the world: Biletska A. O., Dmytriuk S. V., Oruzha L. V., Prusak V. F., Fursa O. O., Shevchenko A. I.

The research objective. To analyze the systems of training of specialists in graphic design in educational establishments of some developed countries of the world; highlight the features; outline the range of knowledge, skills and competences that meets the current level of requirements for a competitive graphic design specialist.

The statement of basic materials. The worldwide trend in education is to train a professional who is able to respond quickly to the rapid development of information technologies that extend the graphic designer from the master of illustration, visual systems, advertising, and exhibition design to such areas of graphic design as moving graphics, interaction design, design animation, interactive design. The study found that the peculiarity of such training is the collaboration of educational institutions with enterprises, firms and institutions to make sure that the educational programs offered for students training meet the needs of production, and students really acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies that are modern requirements for competitive graphic design specialist.

Conclusions. The systems of training of graphic designers in educational establishments of Great Britain, Italy, USA, Poland and Japan are analysed; actual directions of educational activity that provide training of competitive specialists in graphic design are defined.
