Urgency of the research. Society is entering a new stage of its development, where the attitude of a person to other people becomes a priority, democracy is impossible without open discussion and acceptance of the values of civil society, where everyone feels their involvement in the fate of the country. States will inevitably face the problem of forming institutions that meet the needs and interests of citizens, which will lead to conflicts under the influence of globalization trends. For Ukraine, the relevance of the study of civic education is also strengthened by the issue of national security. This is not only related to how we can defeat Russia militarily, but how to defeat it ideologically and socially in order to preserve the national character of the country and the civic consciousness of the people for many years after the war.

Target setting. The tasks of civic education are not of a universal nature, because they depend on the era, the country and the current state of development of society and the challenges facing it. There is a contradiction between the state of civic education, its goals and tasks, which have been declared until now, and the need for their significant renewal before the challenges of Russia's military, information and propaganda aggression. It can be solved by studying the experience of other countries that went through the war, taking into account the peculiarities of Ukrainian development.

Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The following authors investigate the general principles of the functioning and development of the civic education system: J. Banks, J. Hibbing, E. Theiss-Morse, С. Barber, S. Sweetwood, M. King, R. Callahan, С. Muller, D. Camp-bell, J. Dahlgard and others. The pedagogical dimension of civic education is explored by T. Dee, B. Gill, J. Holbein, J. Kahne and others. Among domestic researchers, we note V. Andrushchenko, V. Voronkova, O. Kyvlyuk, K. Klyuzko, L. Kolesnyk, T. Bakka, T. Meleshchenko and others. At the same time, the array of foreign and domestic sources does not fully cover the specifics of the tasks of civic education in the period of armed and informational aggression.

The research objective. To carry out an analysis of the tasks of civic education of Ukraine in the conditions of armed and informational aggression of the Russian Federation.

The statement of basic materials. Civic education fulfills the function of reproducing, preserving and passing on to the next generations the values and cultural heritage of a certain nation and state. Therefore, one of the leading goals of education is the formation of a citizen of a free, independent, democratic European state. This, in turn, actualizes civic education as a sphere where the formation of such a personality takes place in the conditions of armed and informational aggression, as well as in the perspective of the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

Conclusions. It is shown that the main vectors of the transformation of the tasks of civic education are: formation of the national cultural paradigm and civic identity of the "activity" content; deployment of own mass system of creation of Ukrainian-language content; transition from the paternalistic perception of the state as a "state service" to the awareness of personal responsibility for the fate of the state; active use of already existing educational technologies of critical thinking and media literacy; creating conditions for the integration of war-traumatized persons into society; formation of ethics of social behavior and formation of a culture of social action.
