Urgency of the research. The problem of understanding the essence of culture at the contemporary stage of development is characterized by the polysemanticity of the proposed interpretative strategies. This spectrum of variations is indicative in the question of verifying modern culture as a crisis and transitive. The ambiguity of evaluations of the meaning and essence of culture is usually explained by the contradictions that exist in its explicts, meaningful stratifications, marginalization, and the aesthetization of ugly and increasing simulations in modern capitalist society. But the contradiction is an effective tool for studying the essence. Therefore, we consider it appropriate to use the dialectical contradiction to ascertain the essence of culture in its historical logic of transformation.
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the epistemological potential of the dialectical contradiction to study the essence of the phenomenon of culture, especially at the present stage of formation.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The historical and retrospective analysis of philosophical intelligence about the essence of culture shows that the intentions of cultural reflection fruitfully apply the algorithm of dialectical contradiction. M. K. Mamardashvili, V. K. Sukhantseva, V. S. Stepin actualizes the problem of cultural reflection through her contractile opposition. S. Brookfield analyzes the concept of the criticality of reflection and its significance in modern life. S. Matthew and M. D. Sinck study the problem of contradiction and redefinition of personality and subjectivity in conditions of aggressive capitalism. J. Bianco, on the basis of such a critical reflection, offers probation of thinking and philosophizing. K. Thompson and P. Wiles articulate the problem of the criticality of reflection as a mechanism for stabilizing the psyche and ensuring the well-being of individuals and society.
Objectives of the study: to find out the possibilities of implementation of the dialectical contradiction in interpretative techniques of research of the essence of culture; to study the main historical and philosophical contradictionary opposition regarding the essence of the phenomenon of culture; to identify the procedural and contextual determinants of understanding the dialectical contradiction in the epistemological procedures of analytical culture.
The statement of basic material. The problem of criticality of reflection is extremely relevant for the modern polysemantic environment of social culture. And the importance of the issue lies not only in the need to confront the ideological fluctuations of the space of political and economic simulations, but in the horizon of everyday practices. The criticality of reflection is salvage for consciousness that sustains the onset of fragmentation and disorientation. An important element of the criticality of reflection, the author considers the destruction of the concept of hegemony of influence and the possibility of free choice and realization of their own interests.
Conclusions. A retrospective analysis of the historical and philosophical analyst of the essence of culture offers various variants of the opposite in meaning of the concepts: nature (Antiquity), sacred (Middle Ages), socium (New time), transcendence (German classics). At the present stage, such an opposition culture in its classical sense has the phenomenon of simulation as the production of semiotic units deprived of ontological grounds. Incarnating the intentions of capitalism in aggressive forms of ideological and economic influence, simulations substantially transform the course of socio-cultural and individual life. Therefore, philosophical education as a focal point for the criticality of reflection is a necessary component of the training of a specialist.
