Urgency of the research. The article discusses the sociocultural aspects of being immigrants and the transformation of their worldview on the examples of the migration processes in Europe, Ukraine and Greece, which is acutely relevant, since migration processes directly affect the social development of humanity.
Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The leading approaches to the topic in the context of the contradictions of multiculturalism ideas are presented as a desire for freedom and open on the one hand, and as a desire for stability and national identity on the other. Clarified the concept of “migrant”, “emigrant”, “immigrant”, “refugee”, shows the existential difference between these types of people.
The research objective. The necessity of a purely philosophical perspective was proclaimed, since in our time of globalization and urbanization migration flows are increasing on a large scale, and their influence on social processes is becoming more and more obvious.
The statement of basic material. An attempt was made to retrospect the problem and to identify relevant factors of social adaptation. The dialectic of human acculturation through “social shock” is shown - from a feeling of euphoria in a new country to certain disappointments and an awareness of the need for fundamental personal changes. The idea of the “strategy of comfort” of an individual is proposed in combination of his own identity and the acquisition of the advantages of a foreign culture through the qualitative study of a foreign language, literary translations, and the “use” of communicative clusters of a new social space. The leading role in the sociocultural adaptation of Ukrainians of Greece to the Orthodox Church and diasporas is defined, which introduce educational work in the following areas: “diagnosing the situation”, “explaining the prolongation of the adaptation process”, “correcting anxiety or panic moods”, “cultural association” through certain social practices, performances and artistic and creative activities.
Conclusions. It was summed up that with constructive state policy, vigorous activity of the diasporas and volitional intentions of the migrants themselves, it is possible to achieve rootedness and fullness of life in the new society while maintaining their own ethnic identity and personal identification. Such a transformation of a person’s worldview can become a very progressive factor in the development of an individual and society.
